Collegium Experts Present at STIKES Notokusumo, the Quality of Nurse Education is Increasingly Strengthened

Yogyakarta – The Nurse Professional Education Study Program of STIKES Notokusumo Yogyakarta received a visit from the collegium team in the context of the Visitation of Assistance for Improving the Quality of Education, presenting three national nursing experts: Dr. Khamida, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep, Dr. Sidik Awaludin, S.Kep., M.Kep, and Prof. Dr. Tintin Sukartini, S.Kp., M.Kes.

This visitation activity aims to ensure the quality of nurse professional education runs according to national competency standards, as well as provide recommendations for strengthening the curriculum, clinical learning, and internal quality assurance system. In a series of visitations, the collegiate team carried out several agendas, including:

  • Review of the quality curriculum of study programs
  • Observation of the learning process in the classroom and skills laboratory
  • Discussion with lecturers and STIKES leaders related to quality improvement strategies

The team also reviewed the readiness of learning facilities, including nursing laboratories and clinical practice support facilities. Strengthening competency-based learning is very important in preparing graduates who are ready to work. In addition to the education aspect, the improvement of hard skills and soft skills, including professional skills, research, and community service, also plays a role in encouraging the holistic development of graduate competencies. All of these efforts need to be supported by guidance from competent and qualified lecturers.

The collegium team also provided a number of recommendations, such as:

  • Curriculum improvement according to the development of nursing practice
  • Strengthening the practice land network
  • Improving the quality of clinical supervisors
  • Simulation laboratory optimization

The leadership of STIKES Notokusumo expressed its appreciation for this visitation and affirmed its commitment to follow up on all recommendations. The institution considers collegiate mentoring to be an important step in improving the quality of graduates and strengthening the competitiveness of study programs. This visitation is expected to be a momentum to accelerate the improvement of the quality of professional nursing education, as well as strengthen STIKES Notokusumo’s contribution in producing professional health workers.
