A pharmaceutical management information system must be able to assist in every aspect of pharmaceutical services. This system is not only important for pharmaceutical services but has wider benefits for the managerial development of a company. It is not uncommon for a good management information system to be used as a basis for determining the direction of a company’s policy.

Friday, January 6 2023, the STIKES Notokusumo Yogyakarta pharmacy study program held an Expert Lecture with the theme Pharmacy Management Information Systems in Hospitals. This expert lecture is a form of education for pharmacy students to learn more deeply about how to implement a pharmaceutical management information system in a hospital. Present at this expert lecture as a resource person was apt. Theresia Triyastuti, S.Farm who is a practitioner from the hospital. This event was held starting at 09.00 WIB with an online system via zoom media. Even though it was carried out online, it did not reduce the enthusiasm of the students to take part in this activity from start to finish.

In presenting her material, pharmacist Theresia Triyastuti conveyed the importance of using a management information system, especially pharmacy, in a hospital. This system can help pharmacists to identify patient allergy history, for drug monitoring, for employee data and many other purposes for using this system. Good pharmaceutical services will ensure that the quality of medicines delivered to patients is more optimal. The existence of a management information system must also be anticipated with appropriate risk management. The system will not always run without problems, so it must be anticipated with a manual system as a back up. Finally, he said that a good hospital management information system will always experience changes related to needs. Continuous Improvement needs to always be carried out to produce a good system.
