KILAB 2025 Grant Monev: STIKES Notokusumo Achieves 85% Progress of Sensor-Based Injection Mannequin Innovation (NIMAS)

YOGYAKARTA – The Notokusumo College of Health Sciences (STIKES) Yogyakarta on Friday, November 14, 2025, has successfully held a Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) activity for the 2025 Laboratory Innovation Competition Grant (KILAB) from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Ditjen Diktisaintek), Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek).

This Monev activity aims to directly review the development and outputs of the funded innovation project, which at STIKES Notokusumo focuses on the development of interactive learning tools in nursing laboratories.

The innovation project evaluated was “NIMAS (Notokusumo’s Injection Manikin with Sensor): Manikin Innovation for Interactive Learning at the STIKES Notokusumo Yogyakarta Nursing Laboratory”. The team that successfully brought this project to high progress is a multidisciplinary collaboration, with the following structure:

  1. Team Leader               : Helaria Sarasati P., S.Kep., Ns.
  2. Supervisor      : Prima Daniyati K., S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep.
  3. Team Members          : Ade, AMK and Ibrahim As’ad, S.Kom
  4. Project Supporters     : Fika Nur Indriasari, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep as the Head of the Nursing Laboratory.

The background of this project is the limitations of conventional injection manikins that are not yet able to provide real-time feedback to students. In fact, the practice of injection skills is a very important basic clinical competency.

The Objectives and Output Targets of the NIMAS project are to develop a prototype injection manikin equipped with sensors to detect the precision of injection techniques, covering three crucial aspects: location, depth, and injection angle. In the Monev presentation session, the STIKES Notokusumo research team reported the achievement of 85% total project progress. This figure shows the seriousness and effectiveness of the team in carrying out research.

This success places STIKES Notokusumo as an institution that actively innovates and is committed to providing nursing learning facilities that are adaptive to technological developments. NIMAS’ innovation is expected to be an important milestone in improving the quality of practical learning in the laboratory. NIMAS’ innovation is expected to be an important milestone in improving the quality of practical learning in the laboratory, ensuring that STIKES Notokusumo Nursing students have superior and measurable clinical competencies before interacting directly with patients.
