Yogyakarta, October 30, 2025 — STIKES Notokusumo Yogyakarta received a visit from Prof. Dr. Leurat Anuratpanich from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, Thailand. The agenda of this visit is a sharing of quality development that focuses on strengthening institutional accreditation. In his presentation, Prof. Leurat emphasized that accreditation is the main foundation in ensuring the quality of education and competence of graduates, not just an administrative process.
He emphasized the importance of institutional consistency in keeping “promises” to students through the provision of a curriculum that is relevant, adaptive, and in accordance with the needs of industry and community development. The learning method provided must be in line with the achievement of competencies. Good accreditation, according to him, will have a direct impact on the quality of graduates and public trust.
Prof. Leurat also underlined the need for harmony between learning outcomes, learning methods, assessments, and graduate outcomes as the main key to superior accreditation. In addition, institutions need to run the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) cycle on an ongoing basis to ensure quality improvement in all aspects of education. He gave an example, for example, courses with clinical competence cannot only be taught through lectures. Practical approaches such as role play, simulation, or interaction with “patients” are needed to ensure students master clinical skills in real life.
This visit is part of STIKES Notokusumo Yogyakarta’s commitment to strengthening quality governance and preparing graduates who are competent and ready to contribute to various health service sectors.
