D3 Nursing Study Program STIKES Notokusumo Yogyakarta held an Expert Lecture for the Perioperative Nursing Subject with the theme “CHALLENGES TO PERIOPERATIVE NURSES DURING THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC“. This activity was held on Saturday/13 February 2021 at 10.00 using the online method and was attended by 179 sixth semester students and several STIKES Notokusumo alumni. The speaker at this activity was Ns. Juanda Saputra, S. Kep. who is an alumni of class 22 of STIKES Notokusumo Yogyakarta and currently works as a Surgical Room Nurse at Siloam International Hospitals Lippo Village, Tangerang.
This expert lecture examines the role of perioperative nurses in treating Covid 19 patients. The preoperative stage is very important in preventing the transmission of Covid 19, especially in the surgical team. At this stage, patient screening and assessment is carried out in depth. At the intraoperative stage, the entire surgical team uses level 3 PPE. The speaker advised all participants that to become a perioperative nurse you must be mentally strong and physically strong, especially during the Covid 19 pandemic.
With this expert lecture, it is hoped that it can increase students’ understanding regarding the duties and responsibilities of perioperative nurses during the Covid-19 pandemic. Apart from that, it can also motivate D3 Nursing Study Program students to be able to find their field of expertise when they are already working in hospitals.
Good health. Best wishes
